Michaela Koudelková
Michaela Koudelková studied the recorder at Conservatory Brno (Czech Republic). She graduated from the Musical Academy in Kraków (Poland), where she obtained a master‘s with honours and studied under the leadership of Peter Holtslag and Erik Bosgraaf. Michaela is currently a student at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (JAMU, CZ) where she is working towards a PhD. In April 2019 Michaela was awarded with the 1st prize in the international competition in Israel – Tel Aviv Recorder Competition. In June 2018 she was chosen to the final round of Kaleidoscope Vocal Instrumental Competition in Santa Monica (USA) as one of only 6 finalists from 2 000 participants from 88 countries in the world.
Michaela has taken many individual lessons and participated in many international musical courses, such as Summer School of Baroque Music in Kelč and Holešov (CZ), Summer School of Early Music in Prachatice (CZ), The Ringve International Summer Course in Sund (Norway), Akademia Händlowska in Wroclaw (Poland), Arte Dei Suonatore Masteerclass (Poland), Akademia Bachowska in Świdnica (Poland). There she had the opportunity to study with the greatest specialists of recorder and early music, including Rachel Podger, Allison McGillivray, Robert Hollingworth, Peter Holtslag, Karel van Steenhoven, Sarig Sela, Ketil Haugsand, Peter Holtslag, Kristin von der Goltz, Gottfried von der Goltz, Thomas Boysen, Eva Harmuthová, Jan Kvapil, Monika Knoblochová, Bolette Roed, Heiko ter Scheggett and Thijs van Baarsel.
As a soloist, chamber and orchestral player she cooperates with many Czech and foreign orchestras and ensembles, such as Czech Ensemble Baroque, Wrocław Baroque Orchestra, Capella Cracoviensis, Ensemble Diletto, Moravian Chamber Orchestra, Janáček´s Philharmony of Ostrava, La Tempesta, Philharmony of Morava and Silesia, Musica Aeterna, Sine Nomine, Opera Diversa, Musica Armonia, Cornu Copiae, Philharmony of Brno.
She has performed at many national and international musical festivals, such as Concentus Moraviae, Fringe Oude Muziek Festival Utrecht, Janáčkův máj, Mikołowskie Dni Muzyki Dawnej, Musica Holešov, Hudební lahůdky, Hudební slavnosti, Dni Bachowskie, Opera Nowa w Bydgoszczy, Novoměstské slunohraní, Młoda Muzyka Dawna, Akademia Händlowska, Bacha na Mozarta!, Jeunesse Musicales Filharmonie Brno, Jeunesse Musicales Janáčkovy filharmonie Ostrava, Hudební festival Znojmo, Pocta Alfonsi Muchovi, Pocta Žerotínům, Dvořákova Olomouc, Kraków Bach festival, Barok na Spiszu, Třebíčský operní festival, Nitranská hudobná jeseň, Svatováclavský festival hudby a umění, Plzeň – Evropské město kultury, Świdnica Bach Festial.
Michaela has obtained many awards in national and international music competitions; Competition of Early Music Ensembles in Poznań (PL, 2nd prize, 2016), National competition of conservatories (CZ, 1st prize, title of Absolute winner, 2012), Competition at The Summer School of Baroque Music in Kelč and in Holešov (CZ, 1st prize, title of Laureat for three years, 2009, 2010, 2012), International competition Pro Bohemia Ostrava (CZ, 1st prize, title of Laureat and Absolute winner, 2011). In August 2019 she was chosen to perform solo recitals during Fringe Oude Muziek Festival in Utrecht (NL).
Michaela´s main instrument is recorder but she is also interested in playing traverso. She has taken lessons with Lucie Dušková, Peter Holtslag, Malgorzata Wojciechowska and Roberto Bando.
Michaela Koudelková plays concerts as a soloist, chamber music player and orchestra player at home as well as abroad. Since 2016, she has started to work as a teacher as well. She is currently teaching recorder class at Conservatory Brno and JAMU in Brno.
